The Quranic Verses Related to This Incident

Indeed, those that have come (to you) with the depraved slander (in opposition to the mom of the believers) are a band (of hypocrites) amongst you. Do not contemplate it evil for you. But, slightly, it’s good for you. Each one among them shall be charged with the sin he has earned. Moreover, whoever of them took upon himself the larger a part of (spreading) it, for him there shall be an incredible torment (within the Hereafter). (Quran 24:11)

If solely whenever you (first) heard it (uttered), the believing males and the believing girls (amongst you) thought good of (the believers amongst) themselves, and mentioned: This is clearly depraved slander! (Quran 24:12)

And if solely they (who uttered the slander) had produced, (beneath obligation from you believers,) 4 witnesses (to attest) to it! But since they may not produce any witnesses, it’s these, within the sight of God, who’re (to have been adjudged as) the liars (on this matter). (Quran 24:13)

Yet have been it not for the grace of God upon you, and His mercy on this world and within the Hereafter, an incredible torment would, most absolutely, have bothered you for that (gossip) by which you may have indulged, (Quran 24:14)

whenever you relayed (the depraved slander amongst each other) together with your (personal) tongues. Thus with your individual mouths you uttered that of which you had no certain data. Yet you assume it a lightweight factor, whereas earlier than God it’s huge. (Quran 24:15)

And if solely whenever you heard of it you mentioned: It shouldn’t be (lawful) for us to discuss this. Highly exalted are You! This is a gigantic calumny. (Quran 24:16)
